'Operation Olive Branch' to Afrin
ALEPPO, SYRIA - MARCH 20: Children swing and play around at rural area in Afrin town center, as life returns back to normal following the area cleared of YPG/PKK terror groups, after Turkish Armed Forces and Free Syrian Army (FSA) took complete control of northwestern Syria's Afrin from PKK/KCK/PYD-YPG and Daesh terror groups within the "Operation Olive Branch" on March 20, 2018. Since the launch of the operation, the Turkish military and FSA have liberated 253 locations, including 210 villages and 43 strategic mountains and hills. Turkey launched Operation Olive Branch on January 20 in Syrias northwestern Afrin region; the aim of the operation is to establish security and stability along Turkish borders and the region as well as to eliminate PKK/KCK/PYD-YPG and Daesh terror groups, and protect the Syrian people from the oppression and cruelty of terrorists.
