Chinese navy warship, the DDG-171 Haikou

Chinese navy warship, the DDG-171 Haikou destroyer, is seen from French Frigate "Le Floreal", as it patrols the waters of the Gulf of Aden on January 19, 2009. The ship is one of three Chinese vessels deployed on anti-piracy operations off the coast of Somalia. The UN Security Council voted January 16, 2009 to postpone until June a decision on whether to set up a UN peacekeeping operation in strife-torn Somalia to take over from struggling African troops.
