FRANCE-ENERGY-NUCLEAR-AREVA
French firemen are seen during a security exercice in Jarrie, southeastern France inside the Jarrie site of CEZUS, an AREVA group subsidiary and a global leader in the market for nuclear-grade zirconium. Zirconium is a metal used for fuel cladding, among other applications. The CEZUS Jarrie plant site produces zirconium sponge through a series of chemical operations and extractive metallurgy. It also recovers the by-products of zirconium manufacturing , such as hafnium, magnesium and silicon salts and oxides.
