ARMENIA-TURKEY-HISTORY-GENOCIDE-FRANCE
French president Francois Hollande gives a statement as part of the Armenian genocide centenary comemoration on April 24, 2015, at the Armenian genocide memorial, in Yerevan. Hollande on April 24 urged Turkey to use "other words", referring to Ankara's refusal to recognise as genocide the Ottoman empire's massacre of Armenians. The leaders of France and Russia joined ceremonies marking the centenary of the massacre of some 1.5 million Armenians by Ottoman forces, a hugely emotional event that remains a diplomatic minefield.
