Bundeswehr To Inaugurate New Memorial For Fallen Soldiers

POTSDAM, GERMANY - NOVEMBER 14: An inscription reads: "In Honour to the Dead" at an original memorial to fallen colleagues built by Bundeswehr soldiers at their operations base in northern Afghanistan at the new "Wald der Errinerung" ("Forest of Remembrance") memorial one day before its inauguration at the Henning-von-Treschkow barracks at Geltow on November 14, 2014 near Potsdam, Germany. The memorial commemorates members of the Bundeswehr, the German armed forces, killed in the line of duty, both domestic and abroad, and includes eight original memorials built by Bundeswehr soldiers at their foreign operations bases. A total of 104 Bundeswehr members have been killed since 1992 in foreign deployment, mostly in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Kosovo. German President Gauck is scheduled to inaugurate the memorial in a ceremony tomorrow. (Photo by Sean Gallup/Getty Images)
