Suspected Militants Attack Telecommunication Services In Kashmir

SRINAGAR, KASHMIR, INDIA - JULY 24: Indian policemen guard the area where unidentified persons lobbed a hand grenade inside a telecommunication service providers showroom, after a grenade attack by suspected militants on a telecommunication tower on July 24, 2015 in Srinagar. Telecommunication services in Kashmir came under attack yet again as series of grenades blasts rocked mobile service providers in Srinagar the summer capital of Indian administered Kashmir. According to sources, the attackers first got all the employees and others out of the showroom and then lobbed the grenades into the showrooms, which left a civilian wounded and damaging a vehicle. The attacks have come a day after Hizbul Mujahideen expelled it's top commander Abdul Quyoom Najar for involvement in a similar attack six weeks ago and for killing six people. Militants in the Indian controlled Kashmir ordered all Indian telecommunication service providers last month to shut down their services. Two Kashmiri Muslims associated with telecom services were also killed last month by suspected militants in attacks in North Kashmir. (Photo by Yawar Nazir/ Getty Images)
