The Pjevalica family became refugees in August 1995 during Croatia's offensive, called Operation Storm, when they left their home in Knin, Croatia. The UN's highest court on February 3 rejected rival claims of genocide by Croatia and Serbia in landmark rulings over their 1991-1995 war, and urged the former foes to turn the page on their bloody history. ICJ Justice chief judge Peter Tomka dismissed Zagreb's claim that Serb forces committed genocide during Croatia's war of independence.
