Kashmir has been devastated by the worst floods to hit the region in decades. More than a million people have been cut off from clean water, thousands of buildings submerged in flood waters have been left uninhabitable. People who are caught in the submerged houses due to the catastrophic floods are forced to remain on housetops. The floods in the Himalayan region of Kashmir are believed to be the worst in decades, and has entered the city centre, covered all main roads, streets, alley ways and Highways. Floods have consumed entire villages, the death toll from catastrophic floods in Kashmir climbed to more than 175 and affecting more than 100,000 families. This is not the first time Kashmir has been hit by crisis. For more than two decades Kashmir has been in news because of the war, now it is because of floods and landslides.
