Special Operations Weather Team Jumps from a C-130
Members of the 107th Weather Flight, a Special Operations Weather Team based out of Selfridge Air National Guard Base near Detroit, Michigan, practice airborne combat insertion by way of static line parachute jump from a low-flying C-130. Weather Flight personnel are members of Special Operations Command (SOCOM), and are tasked with both helping to plan special operations missions and, at times, the execution of special operations, giving weather input. They are weather experts.
