The Ascent - stock photo

It's a tube rose bush that this li'l creature calls home. Over the last few days on several occasions, I found it trying to crawl its way straight up the steepest and the longest stem (in absolute contradiction to a snail's character). I saw it fail repeatedly........used to fall short by quite some distance......guess it just used to run out of steam and courage after a while.....used to linger at around the middle for a while and then made its way down. But strangely it had to be on 11.11.11 when it finally managed to shed all inhibitions....keeping fear at bay.....made a determined attempt for the summit. As the day ended it did reach the edge of its world and on doing so, stretched out to catch the fading rays of the sun.Almost a solemn moment as it found its place under the sun......
