Spinosaurus hunting for fish in a lake. - stock illustration
Spinosaurus hunting for fish in a lake. The largest known predator at 54 feet long, Spinosaurus lived in North Africa from the end of the early Cretaceous, to the beginning of the late Cretaceous about 95 million years ago. Recent finds indicate Spinosaurus spent most of its time in or near the water. It was a fish eater and may have hunted on land during drought and dry periods.
