John Naber Swimming in 200 Meter Men's Backstroke

(Original Caption) America's John Naber wears a look of total concentration as he moves out into the water 7/24 at the start of the 200 meter men's backstroke event. The concentration paid off. Naber did the distance in 1:59.19, knocking one and one-half seconds off his won record and becoming the first man in history to win the distance event in under two minutes. The victory brought the US its Gold Medal of the Games, too.
