An Egyptian worker leads a bull into a farm to collect sperm to be used for artificial insemination using techniques developed during a 10-year scientific cooperation program between Egypt and France in Beni Sueif, 200 kms south of Cairo, 29 October 2007. The animals, a cross breed of local 'baladi' cows and rustic French tarentaise races, belong to the third generation of the project which aims to produce more beef and milk in the Middle East's most populous country. Cows born in the project produce 18 kgs of milk per day, almost five times more than regular cattle. More than 150,000 cows have been inseminated at the request of farmers by visiting veterinarians.
