Denver Tribal Convening welcome ceremony at Tall Bull Memorial Grounds in Sedalia

The welcome ceremony begins a two-day Tribal Convening, that is part of Community Planning and Developments American Indian/Indigenous Peoples Historic Context Study. The ceremony was organized by Denver Indigenous youth for representatives from 13 Tribal Nations, many of whom traveled from out-of-state. The Denver Indigenous community shared a communal meals with tribal leaders before workshops kick off over the next two days. During the following two days of workshops, tribal leaders will be sharing oral histories and identifying areas and buildings of cultural significance that will inform the final study.
