A British soldier of the Kosovo Force (KFOR). The KFOR, a NATO-led international force responsible for establishing a safe and secure environment in Kosovo, entered Kosovo on June 12, 1999 under a United Nations mandate, two days after the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1244. On June 10, 1999, a Military Technical Agreement (MTA) for the withdrawal of all Serb forces from Kosovo was signed between General Jackson, Commander of the International Security Force (KFOR) and representatives of the VJ General Staff and Republic of Serbia Ministry of Internal Affairs.
