Iranians stand around the rubble of dest

DAHUYEH, IRAN: Iranians stand around the rubble of destroyed homes in the village of Dahuyeh 22 February 2005 after an earthquake measuring 6.4 on the open Richter scale hit the southeastern province of Kerman and destroyed "100 per cent" of this small village according to local officials. More than 270 people in the area were killed when the huge earthquake struck before dawn today and officials warned that the casualty toll could rise further as rain and blocked roads made it difficult to reach stricken mountain villages in the province.
