Lebanese diva Fairuz performs at Kuwait'

Lebanese diva Fairuz performs at Kuwait's Ice Skating Arena late 03 May 2001, singing for the first time in the Gulf emirate after the 1991 Gulf war. Fairuz, who last gave a concert in Kuwait in 1989, sang with a 48-member orchestra and chorus a selection of her old and new popular odes, including a tribute to Jerusalem from her 1950 Rahbani Brothers' musical work, "Raje'oun" (We Shall Return), which was composed after the 1948 loss of Arab land to Israel. The 66-year-old star, who is the Arab world's most popular living singer, cooperated for the third concert in a row since last summer with Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra conductor, Karen Durgaryan.
