CASABLANCA, MOROCCO: Moroccan novelist Mohammed Choukri speaks 05 November 2000, in Casablanca. Moroccan Ministry of Culture declared 30 October 2000 that Choukri's novel "For bread alone", banned in Morocco during 17 years is now authorized for sale. The novel, published in several languages, translated in English by American writer Paul Bowles, describes in graphic detail a childhood on the streets of Tangiers.
