Newly blossomed trees by an abandoned bus shelter in Governors Island in New York City. In 2003 Governors Island was purchased by New York State for $1 from the Federal Government. The plans are for it to be returned to the public use after centuries of military use. Currently most of the island is closed to public and New York City and State of New York and the National Park Service control various portions of the Island as new developments plans are discussed.
