WANA, PAKISTAN: Pakistani tribesmen raise their red-ribbon tied AK-47 assualt rifles during a meeting in Wana, the main town in the South Waziristan tribal territory near the Afghan border, 17 April 2004. Hunderds of armed tribesmen staged the show of force warning they would go into action against five tribal militants if they do not surrender before the April 20 deadline. Pakistani authorities have been putting pressure on members of ethnic Pashtun Zelikhel clan for the arrest of militants, Nek Mohammad, Mohammad Sharif, Noorul Islam, Maulawi Abbas and Mohammad Javed for harbouring members of Al-Qaeda members and Taliban in the region.
