Paul Revere
1801: Paul Revere (1735 - 1818). American patriot and silversmith. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, served in French & Indian War 1756, an early patriot, a leader in Sons of Liberty, aided in plan and execution of Boston Tea Party 1773. Known for his ride on night of 18 April 1775 from Charlestown to Lexington, warning John Hancock & Sam Adams of British troops sent to arrest them and seize Patriot arms at Concord. 1801 engraving by Charles Saint Memin.
