Riverside, Sept. 19, 2005 – – A bullet–riddled car sits on top of a two truck at gas station in Fontana on Monday morning. Earlier two men suffered gunshot wounds early morning while driving on westbound Interstate 10 in Fontana, forcing a two–hour closure of the freeway during the height of the morning commute. The shooting took place 2:40 a.m. when a black Ford Taurus with silver rims approached the victims vehicle near Sierra Avenue and opened fire, leaving the driver with a gunshot wound to the jaw and the passenger with a bullet wound in the buttocks. The wounded driver stopped his bullet–riddled car at a gasoline station in the 1600 block of Valley Boulevard in Fontana. They were able to exit the freeway quickly and medical aid responded, sheriff s spokeswoman Jodi Miller said. The injuries are not believed to be life–threatening.
