(Original Caption) Tookie Gilbert of the New York Giants tries to steal home in the seventh inning of the second game of a doubleheader with the St. Louis Cardinals at the Polo Grounds, but fails. Ed Stankey moved toward second to draw a throw from catcher Del Rice. Shortstop Miller, who took the peg, rifled it back to Rice who blocked Gilbert from the plate and tagged him. The Giants took this game, 5-0, after winning the opener, 3-0.
