Christian Dior 1955 Spring Fashion Show

(Original Caption) Attention: Woman's Page Editor. Paris, France: From the current Paris fashions, a Christian Dior suit (at left) is a trend setter in his spring show. Of gray flannel, the "A" line is featured in the three-quarter length jacket flaring toward the hem, the knife-pleated skirt continuting to flare and the double breasting with buttons arranged in "A" shape. Topping the creation is a small cloche hat trimmed with black ribbon. The shoes with bar strap complete the latest Dior look from Paris. At right, Paris designer Jean Patou made spring fashion news with such creations as this shirt-waist dress of sand-colored satin worked in fine pleats and belted at the natural waistline by a satin belt. It is worn with a coat of heavy silk in two tones, and sand-colored straw sailor hat. February 21, 1955.
