China has launched nationwide campaigns to inspect pig slaughtering and processing industry in the wake of the pig infection. According to the Ministry of Health, the death toll in Sichuan Province's pig-borne disease has risen to 31 with 27 in critical condition. Totally 152 cases are reported in Ziyang and neighboring Neijiang Cities until noon of July 28. The ministry said that the disease was caused by Streptococcus suis, a bacteria carried by pigs, which may infect people as they slaughter and process sick and dead pigs. According to Xinhua News Agency, China will soon start to produce the pig-borne disease vaccine in south China's Guangdong Province. (Photo by China Photos/Getty Images)
