Japanese beetles are common species of beetles native to Japan where they are not so destructive because of natural predators that control them. However here North America they are serious pest to many plants. They were first found in the USA in 1916 and first discovered in Europe in 2014. They're about 15 mm long with iridescent copper coloration.
