In a suburb located about three kilometers north of the capital of Tibet (Lhasa), on the slopes of the hill that bears the name of Tatipu you can find the magnificent Monastery Sera.. The monastery is consecrated to the Gelupta sect (the order of the yellow hat), a branch of Tibetan Buddhism founded by Tsong Khapa. It would be SagyaYexei, one of the disciples of Tsong Khapa, who ordered the construction of the monastery back in 1419; with the passage of time Sera would become one of the 6 most important monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism consecrated to the Gelupta sect.
