Traditional apple pancakes or Aebleskiver in danish. - stock photo
Traditional apple slices or aebleskiver in danish. Their name does not describe them very well. They are ball-shaped bread dough with a pancake-like texture. Traditionally eaten in the run-up to Christmas they are a Danish “comfort food” to eat in the long winter nights. A piece of apple or prune can be added to the middle of the dough halfway through cooking although this is optional, they are usually eaten with jam or fresh fruit and a dusting of icing sugar. Colour, horizontal with some copy space.
