Zongzi is a traditional Chinese food made of glutinous rice stuffed with different fillings and wrapped in bamboo, generally of indocalamus tessellatus species, sometimes, with reed, or other large flat leaves. They are cooked by steaming or boiling. Duan Wa Festival ( also known as Dragon Boat Festival ) is the day for eating "Zongzi". When pillow shaped zongzi are known as Cantonese Zongzi, the Hokkien Zongzi are shaped like a pyramid. Generally, Guangdong zongzi are large in size and have special shapes. They are either sweet with walnuts, dates, or bean paste as a filling, or savory with ham, egg, meat, or roast chicken as a filling.
