Protesters against "Northern Macedonia" name deal in Thessaloniki clash with the police

About 1000 protesters gathered in front of the central fair entrance in Thessaloniki, Greece, on June 25, 2018 to protest against the recent name deal with Northern Macedonia, as they don't accept the Greek term "Macedonia" in the name of the Slavic origin country. The protest was held as there was a speech of the major party of the government coalition about the benefits of the name deal. The nationalist group was supported by a group of FC PAOK fans. There were severe clashes with the police for almost 3 hours. 4 people arrested and a few policemen and protesters got injured. The traffic was cut in the city center and there were damages in private and public property. (Footage by STR/NurPhoto via Getty Images)
