Aerial video footage taken on April 13 above Takashima, Shiga Prefecture, shows hundreds of "somei-yoshino" cherry trees in full bloom along the bank of Biwako Lake on a day of splendid weather. Strollers, picnickers, kayakers and pleasure boats gathered in number to enjoy the sight made up of about 800 trees planted along a length of shore of about four kilometers.
