The Weisse Stadt was designed by architects Bruno Ahrends, Wilhelm Bühning and Otto Rudolf Salvisberg and built between 1928-1930. The estate is one of several built in the same period in Berlin in an effort to meet high demand for affordable housing and with designs heavily influenced by the Bauhaus.
