David Cameron visit: Q&A at Qatar University
David Cameron visit: Q&A at Qatar University; Cameron answering questions from audience members SOT
- On believing in democracy, freedom and human rights / how Britain relates to other countries, have to get the balance right, world would be a safer and better place if all countries moved in a democratic direction / democracy is not simply about holding one election / they had elections in Egypt but they still had a state of emergency / need to talk about building blocks of democracy / we shouldn't point our finger and say 'this leader has to go', we should talk about democracy / democracy is a process, not an event / it's not some western model we're saying everybody has to introduce, we say you will be a stronger, more stable, better society if you move in a democratic direction, it's what I call a liberal Conservative approach rather than a neo Conservative approach
