The Bishwa Ijtema or World Congregation is an annual Tablighi Jamaat Islamic congregation held in Tongi by the Turag River. The event has transformed into an important and annual religious festival. Bangladesh is a moderate Muslim (over 86 percent population are Muslims) country in South Asia. In terms of number of devotees this religious festival is second biggest get-together of people with Islamic faith.
Bangladesh's Biswa Ijtema, or World Muslim Congregation, is the world's second largest Islamic gathering after the Hajj with devotees coming from all over the globe to pray and hear imams preach for three days.
Muslim people from different countries and different district attend this congregation.
