D-Day Preparations and Attack During the II World War, Archive Material
France, Circa June 6, 1944: During the Normandy attack, the second wave of gliders is launched. One glider lands on a flooded field. The clip shows obstacle poles or stakes in fields which were a defense strategy by the Germans. D-Day consisted of two major codenames operations: 'Operation Overlord' referred to the air attack, and 'Operation Neptune' referred to the seaborne invasion in history. The vintage footage has been digitally improved and transformed into a modern MOV. format
