Jeanenne Tornatore is the-- KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: We love her. HODA KOTB: --senior editor at Orbitz. Hey, girl. JEANENNE TORNATORE (Senior Editor, Orbitz): Hi. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Hello. JEANENNE TORNATORE: Hi. HODA KOTB: All right. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: We're just going to get a mani-pedi with your daughter-- HODA KOTB: Yeah. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: --is like so much fun. I love that. HODA KOTB: Oh, it's great. JEANENNE TORNATORE: Yeah, more and more people are taking bigger trips doing kind of bigger things with moms these days as we approach Mother's Day. My first destination is Montreal-- HODA KOTB: Lots of beautiful spot. JEANENNE TORNATORE: --in Quebec. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Yeah. JEANENNE TORNATORE: It is. I love these Canadian cities for a quick getaway with a European flair, very adventurous. I would start in the city, plan out your shopping, there is St. Catherine Street, the Eaton Street mall. There's a lot of French inspired-- HODA KOTB: Beautiful. JEANENNE TORNATORE: --fashion here and then there's old Montreal, where you can stroll the cobblestone streets with the old world architecture, the bistros and galleries. And if you want to do something outside the city, there is the Laurentian Mountains and there's a two hundred kilometer bike trail that's-- HODA KOTB: Oh, beautiful. Look at that. JEANENNE TORNATORE: --really easy riding but it goes through a little tourists town, it's a great option. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Hoda and I-- (Cross talking) HODA KOTB: Yeah. JEANENNE TORNATORE: The hotel-- KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Just loved it. JEANENNE TORNATORE: The-- yeah, it’s-- it's a beautiful. The Hotel Omni Mont-Royal right in the heart of the city, from just a hundred and forty-three dollars a night in May on Orbitz. It's, you know, a great brand. You know, you're getting good amenities at hotel like that. HODA KOTB: I love this next one. Nashville, Tennessee. If you like music-- KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Nashville, so much fun. JEANENNE TORNATORE: And I love it for a mother/daughter trip. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Yeah. JEANENNE TORNATORE: There's so many new things to experience together there. Maybe mom will even let her hair down to some country music. First before you go, it's a must do is get tickets for the Grand Ole Opry-- HODA KOTB: Yep. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Yep. JEANENNE TORNATORE: --at the Ryman Auditorium and you'll see everyone from Carrie Underwood to Keith Urban there these days. But you want to get them in advance because they go quick. Also if you're not into music or you want to do something different, the first museum has high end visual art exhibits and then there is great shopping. There's always up and coming neighborhoods in Nashville like East Nashville just outside the city with boutiques. And you have to get your first pair of cowboy boots with mom when you're there. HODA KOTB: By the way, its' such a-- such a great, great city. Where should you stay if you go there? JEANENNE TORNATORE: Well, I've got a great budget pick. It's the Hotel Preston from just a hundred and fifteen dollars on Orbitz. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Wow. JEANENNE TORNATORE: It's a really cute boutique hotel with some quirky fun amenities. HODA KOTB: Okay. All right, Santa Barbara, a beach and spa, that sounds perfect. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Sorry, it's my favorite place. HODA KOTB: Oh. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Love Santa Barbara so much. JEANENNE TORNATORE: Everyone that goes there wants to live there. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Oh, right. HODA KOTB: Yeah. Look at this. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Just unbelievably beautiful. JEANENNE TORNATORE: They call it the American Riviera and for good reason. I mean this is the place to go to relax and rejuvenate. You want to book your mom and spa-- mom and daughter spa day in advance. They boast one spa per square mile in Santa Barbara. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Yeah. HODA KOTB: Are you kidding? JEANENNE TORNATORE: If you really want to go all in, go to the spa at the Biltmore. This is a beautiful property. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: It is unbelievable. JEANENNE TORNATORE: They have all these personalized spa treatments. They have afternoon tea overlooking the ocean. But what I really love about Santa Barbara if you're going to stay there is all the boutique properties they have there. You want to make sure when you're doing a small boutique property, go on a site like Orbitz and look at the user reviews because you want to make sure you're getting a good one that has what you want. I love the Montecito Inn. It was built in 1928 by-- KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Oh, it's adorable. JEANENNE TORNATORE: --Charlie Chaplin. And it's a beautiful little property. In room spa services from just over a hundred and fifty-five dollars a night in May on Orbitz. HODA KOTB: Love it. What about Oregon? JEANENNE TORNATORE: Oregon has-- HODA KOTB: We must go there. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: It's beautiful. HODA KOTB: Yes, yes. JEANENNE TORNATORE: They have a beautiful-- KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Look at that. JEANENNE TORNATORE: The Willamette Valley, it's their wine region. It extends from Portland down to Eugene, Oregon, over two hundred and fifty wineries. It's their affordable and accessible answer to Napa there, and it is beautiful. So not only can you do it by bike or car, but you cannot just taste the wines and sample, but there is little historic towns to drive through, covered bridges, farmers' markets-- KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Lot of charm. JEANENNE TORNATORE: --and an easy day trip to Portland as well. Head into Portland, you know, sample from their food carts, tax free shopping, great experience. HODA KOTB: Okay. Just a couple of seconds. But Vermont for this-- for the mother/son, huh? JEANENNE TORNATORE: If you want something outdoorsy, maybe to do with your son, Burlington, Vermont is a great leisurely little town. It's a college town, so it still has some of the urban things you like, the outdoor cafes. But you can view the Champlain Islands by bike, rent a bike from the little bike shop. HODA KOTB: Beautiful. JEANENNE TORNATORE: You can hike in the Adirondacks. And the hotel property I love here is the Essex Resort and Spa. It's set on eighteen acres, beautiful place to go. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Thanks so much. HODA KOTB: Thank you so much.
