1952 Indian UN Ambassador V. K. Krishna Menon speaks on Indian plan to end Korean deadlock on prisoners of war

On the day that the UN Political Committee overwhelmingly approves the India Korea Plan, SOT Indian UN Ambassador V. K. Krishna Menon speaks from chair: "In presenting this resolution on Korea, largely concentrated on the aspect of the armistice, we do not, as I said on last occasion, present it as an isolated piece of history or even from the rest of world development. We believe that the settlement in Korea will lead to a settlement in the far east and generally lead to an improvement in the whole of our situation. We think it will speed the day when China will take its seat here and be able to proclaim to the world her rightful position in our gathering...."
