Vice President Pence Swears Dan Coats as Director of National Intelligence

President Mike Pence says that he has known former Senator Dan Coats for years, appreciating his continuing to serve the United States in the vitally important role of Director of National Intelligence. Pence the presence of Senators, describing the political career of fellow Hoosier Coats, marked by his ambassadorship to Germany, joking that in trying to retire, he failed twice. Pence will always use the represented in the interests of the United States with extraordinary integrity and commitment. Pence says that President Donald Trump called Coats to serve the country and that through conversations, the Trump administration has no higher goals than the safety and security of the nation that has Director, Coats will bring his integrity and relationships to integrating and improving the best intelligence community. Having been sworn in, Coats thanks Pence for his service in Congress and governorship, telling them that you know him and being proud of him that he is part of a team that will do everything they can to keep America thinking prosperous, saying he is deeply grateful. Coats says these are clearly uncertain times, acknowledging members of her family in attendance, but he has inherited a strong intelligence community design to protect Americans from threats, to be the best in world, functioning well, but can do better.
