Event Date(s): 03/14/2017 | Event Location(s): Today New York Studio | Description: Bush Hager interviews makeup artist Ashlee Glazer who notes how to apply makeup in five minutes (done by a model in-studio) as GFX clock counts down five minutes: “JENNA BUSH HAGER: Okay, ladies. It’s time for Boot Camp but we promised with this one, you won’t even work up a sweat. Celebrity makeup artist Ashlee Glazer is here with our brave model, makeup free Azade. So she’s going to show us how we can get ready in five minutes. ASHLEE GLAZER: Yes. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Five-minute face. Okay. Let’s put five minutes on the clock. We’ve got to get right to it. ASHLEE GLAZER: Okay. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Let’s start with the face, right? ASHLEE GLAZER: Starting with the face. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Okay. ASHLEE GLAZER: Okay. We’re going to use a CC cream. CC cream is super moisturizing so it’s your hydration, skincare, most of them contain SPF and color correction. I like to apply it with the hands, so that way you can cover even ground. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Yeah. ASHLEE GLAZER: And it just feels really natural and it hydrates the face. JENNA BUSH HAGER: By the way, it’s a one-stop shop. ASHLEE GLAZER: One stop shop. JENNA BUSH HAGER: She doesn’t have to put-- ASHLEE GLAZER: You’re saving so many tying in one step. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Okay. ASHLEE GLAZER: Next we’re going to do concealer. So now that we blended our foundation all the way in, we’re going to use a clickable concealer pencil and do like a Nike swoosh shape underneath the eyes. And then you can blend that in with an egg shape sponge. This will built up the coverage, so then you’re not wiping off the concealer. You just did and feel free to use the remainder on the sponge around the nose, chin, or cover any blemishes or any hot spots that you might get. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Oh, my gosh. ASHLEE GLAZER: Okay. JENNA BUSH HAGER: She’s really doing it. ASHLEE GLAZER: Perfect. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Okay. What about for the cheeks? ASHLEE GLAZER: Now, the cheeks. So we’re going to use a two-in-one. We’re going to use a cheek chubby stick for lip and cheek. Just dap a little on the high apples like she did and I told her to blend it in with her hand. Use the back side of your middle finger because it’s the longest and the smoothest. So it gives really even coverage. And we went for a cream for radiance and shine. JENNA BUSH HAGER: All right. ASHLEE GLAZER: You can put a little on the lip now and then we’re going to add a little bit of a bronzer to warm up the skin. Use a minimal bronzer so it kind of acts as a setting powder as well. JENNA BUSH HAGER: It’s pretty. ASHLEE GLAZER: And the bigger the brush, more ground you can cover. So that way you get everything all at one shot. JENNA BUSH HAGER: By the way-- ASHLEE GLAZER: Beautiful. JENNA BUSH HAGER: --you look beautiful. Your cheekbones. WOMAN: Thank you. JENNA BUSH HAGER: That’s all you need. So we stop here. ASHLEE GLAZER: Okay. We’re going to continue with the eye. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Eyes. All right. ASHLEE GLAZER: Okay. So brows are essential looking polish and fresh really quickly. So we’re going to use a brow gel. And if you’re new at this, just scrape the size off a little bit so you don’t get too much product right away. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Right. ASHLEE GLAZER: You’re going to brush the brows up and over starting at the arks. They don’t deposit too much pigment. And that will keep them nice and groom. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Okay. ASHLEE GLAZER: Then we’re going to go with eye shadow. So I like to use a crayon. JENNA BUSH HAGER: This is a stick? ASHLEE GLAZER: Yeah, it’s a stick crayons, which really creamy. It just fits perfectly, draw like a half-moon shape and blend with your finger. Go for an earth tone color because that will match any outfit that you might throw on as you’re walking about the door. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Is that also like an eyeliner almost? ASHLEE GLAZER: Yeah. You can use it on the bottom and that’s from the drugstore. So you can-- it comes in a million of colors. You can keep it in your bag and change up throughout the day. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Cool. Okay. ASHLEE GLAZER: Next is mascara. When you’re in a rush, you can do just the top. But if you always do top and bottom, I suggest doing the bottom lashes first so you’re not looking up and messing up the eye shadow we just created. So just wiggle at the root and do two to three coats or most of us like to spend the most time on our mascara so it’s really up to you. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Yeah. ASHLEE GLAZER: All right. JENNA BUSH HAGER: I would say-- okay, by the way, we have two minutes and forty seconds left. ASHLEE GLAZER: Okay. All right. JENNA BUSH HAGER: I think we have all the time in the world. ASHLEE GLAZER: We have a lot of time. So now, okay, for a nighttime and for lip, lipstick is a two in one. So we have a couple of colors to play with. So if you want to bump it up to be more dramatic, you can have multiple options of your cheek color. So you’ve done kind of a brighter pick for evening. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Okay. ASHLEE GLAZER: And then if you want to do a little bit of a smokier eye, keep a mechanical pencil in there to go bag. So you can draw like a thicker line than maybe you normally would. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Right. ASHLEE GLAZER: Don’t worry about being so precise. Use your finger to blend it out. So you get that kind of smudgy smoky eye. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Okay. ASHLEE GLAZER: And if it’s mechanical, you don’t have to worry about keeping a sharpener. So it’s always ready on the go for-- JENNA BUSH HAGER: Yeah, that’s smart. ASHLEE GLAZER: --whatever look you want to do. JENNA BUSH HAGER: For people that travel a lot. ASHLEE GLAZER: Exactly. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Okay. ASHLEE GLAZER: And you can do a little on the bottom too. JENNA BUSH HAGER: She’s done. ASHLEE GLAZER: Yeah. That’s it. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Wait a minute and fifty-eight seconds to spare. ASHLEE GLAZER: Amazing. So you can go back and then you can prefect or you might have time to actually drink your coffee. JENNA BUSH HAGER: Okay. Ashlee, you’re a genius. ASHLEE GLAZER: Thank you. JENNA BUSH HAGER: I guess we’re finished. WOMAN: Thank you.”
