The Columbia Space Shuttle astronauts were remembered. EJ: 18:38:50 (2:55) EXT DAY HOUSTON, TEXAS AT THE JOHNSON SPACE CENTER BRIEF CUTS: Overhead and regular shots of family members including man being wheeled in wheelchair walking past military officials and mourners. MS: Mission Commander Rick Husband's son Matthew. MS: Husband's widow Evelyn, daughter Laura, Matthew, and others. BRIEF CUTS: Family members including Pilot William McCool's widow Lani and sons Christopher and Sean, Mission Specialist Laurel Clark's son Iain wiping his eyes, and Payload Specialist Ilan Ramon's widow Rona with their children Asf, David, Nora, and Tal. INT MS: Slow-motion of Columbia astronauts Clark, Kalpana Chawla, Payload Commander Michael Anderson, Mission Specialist David Brown, and Ramon all wearing space suits walking down hallway followed by others. EXT DAY HOUSTON MS: In interview a teary NASA Training Manager Darla Racz says "They loved each other like a family. It was a great mission. They were almost home, you know. Almost home." EXT DAY HOUSTON MS: Overhead shot of crowd at the memorial service. MS: Woman cries. MS: Mourners. MS: Former astronaut John Glenn and his wife Annie near other mourners. MS: Former astronaut Neil Armstrong and his wife Janet near other mourners. Rominger says "He was the perfectly poised fighter pilot with the sparkle in his eyes. Laurel, she had a perpetual smile and would never send an e-mail or phone if she could find you in person. Mike, because he was quiet, we all loved to see him laugh. And when we--he laughed, we laughed with him even harder. Kalpana loved flying small airplanes with her husband and flying in space. Smiling Dave, or "Doc" to his friends, quiet and observant with piercing blue eyes. Willie, known for his tremendous consideration for others. He enjoyed surprising people with flowers and Hawaiian leis. Rick, I grew to really appreciate all his talents, his gifts, and laugh at all of his Amarillo sayings." EXT DAY HOUSTON MS: President Bush walks to podium past others on stage. MS: Mourner cries. MS: Rear shot of mourners with long shot of Bush at podium. MS: Bush says "This cause of exploration and discovery is not an option we choose. It is a desire written in the human heart." BRIEF CUTS: A crying Evelyn Husband with Laura and Matthew, a crying Rona McCool being comforted by Sean next to Christopher, a child, Rona, Asf, David, Nora, and Tal Ramon, and Iain Clark wiping tears from his eyes.
