BRIEF CUTS: A person mountain biking through a wooded area. Tilt shot of Streb. MS: During interview Streb says "I've done many different things in my life, many sports, music, science, different sports, but I've always wanted to try to be the best at something, and mountain biking is the thing I chose to try to be the best in the world at." INT MS: Streb plays the piano. VO: As stills of Streb and her family are seen (placed on rocks outdoors) she says"I just followed what my brothers did. I didn't know any better. I just thought it was just a blast playing outside with the boys. It's always come pretty naturally to me, even as a girl." EXT DAY MS: Streb riding her bicycle VO: As she is seen jumping over an obstacle on a her bicycle Streb says "It's a natural high. You're in the moment, you're in a zone. There's nothing there's no other world out there. It's just a feeling that you can't get from anything else." MS: Streb. MS: Streb putting on her helmet. EXT DAY (Outdoor Network) BRIEF CUTS: Streb riding down a mountain bike track. EXT DAY PARTIAL VO: During interview and as she is seen riding Streb says "I started this sport when I was 28 years old, that's older than the average. So I had to work very hard to achieve what the kids do naturally. The first race that I saw was in California, and that was a race that I was competing in. So I thought I'd enter. And, you know, I hadn't even known the sport existed actually. I wasn't prepared at all and it was a blast. I won the race I think as a beginner even." MS: During interview Streb says "It was a matter of just being fearless. It wasn't really a matter of skills yet." STILL: Streb and others standing on a podium. EXT DAY MS: During interview Streb says "I love downhill mountain bike racing because you're outside. It gives you great fitness. We need to train really hard. You get in great shape." MS: During interview Streb says "Oh, they were appalled. My parents were appalled." Partial VO: During interview and as she is seen riding Streb "But I knew I could always go back to science. But if I didn't try, I might regret it for the rest of my life. So and, you know and I I'm so thankful that I did that and I didn't let the opportunity slip away." PARTIAL VO : During interview and as she is seen riding Streb says "I had to make many sacrifices. It's about that time for a woman to get married and have kids and have a stable job, and here I was throwing away a great education, a master's degree. I had great job as an AIDS researcher." MS: During interview Streb says "I think it is the adrenaline. And, you know, this is also prevalent in the stock market. And, you know, a lot of people have become passionate about what they're doing." Panning shot of Streb's leg brace. MS: During interview Streb says "An ankle, a shoulder--collar bones a couple of times. I broke my arm once and some fingers. And then my tibia once." HIGH WS: Streb riding down a trail. BRIEF CUTS: Stills of Streb and others placed outdoors. MS: During interview Streb says "I called it a flesh wound at the time. Really, you know, if you can ride the bike competitively and no one will know, then everything is fine." WS: Rear shot of Streb riding her bicycle. MS: Streb riding her bicycle BRIEF CUTS: Streb and Curry push their mountain bikes up a hill as Streb says "Yeah. Actually, I usually hike up, and that way I can look while I'm walking up. I can check all the holes. If there's something really dangerous or a big rock to avoid or jump. And it gives you a much better sense of what" Yeah, you make a mental map. And, you know, even at speeds, what kind of obstacles you're going to hit. Like, right here, we're going have you come down this" "So while you're walking up, you sort of imagine coming down."
