Senator Schumer sets forth five goals for North Korea bilateral talks

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer says in floor remarks that in a letter, he and Senator Bob Menendez wrote to President Trump outlining five key principles for possible talks with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, first to remove every single nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, and uranium and plutonium production, dismantle its nuclear weapons and infrastructure, suspend all ballistic missile tests, commit to anytime, anywhere inspections including at all non-declared suspicious sites, and that any agreement be permanent. Schumer says Trump could make the world a safer place but if reaches a deal just for the sake of reaching a deal that fails to live up to the principles, he would have been bested at the negotiation table yet again.
