Mt. Zao Tourist Motorway Fully Reopens

MIYAGI, JAPAN – JUN. 22: Tourist motorway around Mount Zao Volcano situated between Miyagi and Yamagata Prefectures fully reopened Monday June 22 after authorities cancelled eruption alert in the area. The Zao Echo Line was only partly reopened from the winter recess in April as Meteorological Agency issued eruption alert earlier that month. The Zao Highline, the other toll motorway annexing the Echo Line, also reopened. The annex line, leading up to lake Okama on Mt. Zao, will be toll free until end July to spur tourist industry.
