Children in rural Tokushima bridge language gap, show off hospitality

Video footage taken in Miyoshi, Tokushima Prefecture, shows local schoolchildren giving a warm welcome to American tourists on Nov. 12. Twenty-two elementary and junior high school students led 14 visitors from California by hand across the swaying Kazurabashi bridge fashioned from vines. The students also welcomed the guests with placards, tried out their English skills and presented a quiz. (Tsukasa Fuke)
