SHIKOKU, SHIMANTO, KOCHI, JAPAN - 2019/08/31: Ceiling Fresco at Iwamoto-ji - temple No. 37 on the Shikoku pilgrimage located above the Shimanto River. The main hall is distinguished by its famously colorful ceiling murals which mixes Asian and Western motifs. Iwamoto-ji is a Chisan Shingon temple number 37 on the Shikoku 88 temple pilgrimage. The deities worshipped at this temple are Fudo Myo-o, Sho Kannon, Amida Nyorai, Yakushi Nyorai and Jizo Bosatsu. The temple is said to have been founded by Gyoki during the period between the years 729-749.
