The song, Frankie and Johnnie she admits was based on an affair she has with Albert Britt, her colored dandy sweetheart, which terminated with his death at her hands. She was acquitted; the crime being adjudged justifiable homicide. She is pictured in her home on Clackamas Street, St. Louis.
