Karen's sister, Sharon, heard the whistle and was able to get on board the train and so retrieve the stranded women's belongings.The incident went to illustrate the advice of Illawarra commuters: Plan ahead for your trips to and from Wollongong.Either go to the lavatory before boarding, pick a train with lavatories aboard, or be prepared to grit your teeth and cross your legs through the 80- to 90-minute journey.
