Martin Klein of Russia (right) and Alfred Asikainen of Finland during their Final round middleweight wrestling match at the Summer Olympic Games in Stockholm, Sweden on 15th July 1912. The match, which was won by Klein, is recognised as the world's longest, lasting 11 hours and 40 minutes. Klein, however, was too exhausted to wrestle in the Final and the Swede Claes Johansson (not in picture), who had been defeated twice by Asikainen, was declared the gold medallist.
