Jacksons Honest gets funding from the Shark Tank
BOULDER, CO - OCTOBER 1 - Megan and Scott Reamer, founders of Jackson's Honest Chips, are emotional as they watch their story being told during the premiere of The Shark Tank at CrossFit Roots on October 1, 2017 in Boulder, Colorado. The couple and their kids were successful in getting funding from the show to help their potato chip company grow. Megan Reamer started making Jackson's Honest chips in 2012, as a dietary strategy for helping her ill son, Jackson. After trying a host of different diets for her neurologically injured son, the Reamers started exploring saturated fats as a way to ease Jacksons gastrointestinal issues. Jacksons Honest Chips has become a platform to advocate for coconut oil and other traditionally healthy oils, versus manmade oils and fats. Today, the three-ingredient Jacksons Honest Chips - made with heirloom potatoes grown in Hotchkiss - are available across the country. Sadly, Jackson died suddenly 6 weeks ago. The family is still trying to figure out exactly how he died at only 16 years old. (Photo by Helen H. Richardson/The Denver Post via Getty Images)
