Lung carcinoid tumour, light micrograph - stock photo

Light micrograph of a carcinoid neuroendocrine tumour of the lung. The lung is a common site for occurrence of neuroendocrine tumours. The tumour cells have small round nuclei (dark blue) and moderate amounts of cytoplasm (lighter blue-pink around blue dots). The tumour cells are arranged in clusters with intervening connective tissue (lighter pink blue areas). Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section. Magnification: 100x when printed at 10cm
